Last year Michelin presented the first ever ‘Welcome and Service Award’ which was awarded to Peel’s Restaurant at Hampton Manor. The same day, Peel’s was also awarded its first Michelin Star. The special ‘Welcome and Service Award’ recognises the dedication husband and wife James and Fjona Hill have put into their hotel and restaurant. The Michelin Star and four AA Rosettes recognises their entire journey to establish Hampton Manor as one of the leading dining destinations in the UK.
Hampton Manor is part of Birmingham’s successful foodie story. Peel’s is home to simple dishes cooked using seasonal ingredients and modern cooking techniques under Head Chef Rob Palmer. The restaurant is open Tuesday – Saturday offering dinner in a relaxed, spacious environment which seats 28 guests. The chefs table in the Tasting Room allows guests to watch the Peel’s chefs pull together different elements of the dishes before their very eyes.
The menu includes 3 Courses £55 (Tuesday to Saturday) or 2 Courses £40 (available only Tuesday to Thursday):

Summer will see the development of the hotel’s extensive walled kitchen gardens. Wine Director Sam Olive runs his business, Wine Freedom, from the Manor’s cellars. Specialising in organic, natural, and biodynamic wines, he and Sommelier Ross Morton offer a progressive wine list.
Husband and wife team, James and Fjona Hill, have drawn on their surroundings to create a unique environment that celebrates its Arts and Crafts roots whilst offering a contemporary haven for city slickers looking to kick up their feet in the countryside. There’s 45 acres of woodland and gardens for guests to explore using a dedicated ‘Field Guide’ which showcases footpaths and trees around the grounds.

William Morris is Fjona’s inspiration for the 15 individually designed bedrooms. She has reached back into the Manor’s Arts and Craft past and pulled out sensational patterns, wallpapers, furniture and fabric that transform elegant bedrooms into microcosmic homes away from home. Each bedroom is finished with homely touches, like ladder bookshelves from Rockett St George, stocked with beautifully designed page-turners. Key colours include the inky richness of Farrow and Ball’s Hague Blue and accents of brass.
Hampton Manor’s location is firmly in the heart of England and its recent awards cement it as one of the United Kingdom’s leading independent hotels and restaurants serving its guests in a unique way.
