Hampton Manor is a family-run hotel located in the West Midlands surrounded by 45 acres of meadows and woodland. Throughout 2016, Hampton Manor is celebrating all things food and drink with new launches and events created to further establish this independent hotel as one of the UK’s finest.

Last year the hotel’s restaurant; Peel’s, was awarded 3 AA Rosettes under Head Chef Rob Palmer. His innovative menus use local produce including from the hotel’s walled kitchen gardens. Peel’s is open Tuesday – Saturday offering dinner in a relaxed, spacious environment with 28 covers. Modern British menus include A La Carte, 5 Course Tasting and 7 Course Tasting options, all available with wine flight pairing. Fiona Duncan, the Sunday Telegraph newspaper’s hotel critic recently awarded the food at Hampton Manor a fantastic 10/10. For those seeking a front row seat into Hampton Manor’s kitchen, the recently launched Tasting Room offers up to eight guests the chance to watch their dishes take shape whilst learning the secrets of a lively kitchen.

Fred’s Bistro at Hampton Manor offers a more casual environment for breakfast, lunch, light meals and now cocktails. A new cocktail menu has been unveiled and includes; Aviation (Tanquray 10 gin, Violette Liquor and fresh lemon), Coconut Alexander (Cognac, with Cacao Liquor and coconut cream), Frosty Jack (Jack Daniels whiskey served long with apple, lemon and Hampton Manor’s own Cinnamon syrup. All priced £10.00. Another place to enjoy food and drink is The Parlour, one of Hampton Manor’s newest arrivals. Filled with contemporary art, The Parlour at Hampton Manor, with open log fires is the place for drawn out afternoon teas with Lalani & Co teas and pre-dinner cocktails.

Hampton Manor has embraced its past famous resident combining personality and modernity throughout. The Manor’s most famous resident was Sir Frederick Peel, son of 19th-century Prime Minister, Sir Robert Peel, who established the English police force. When he died his son decided to develop the area in his father’s memory. Although parts of the building date back to 1066, the Neo-Tudor gothic style is evident throughout the Manor and the striking clock tower looks out over the beautiful 45 acres of gardens.

James and Fjona Hill head up a young innovative team of hospitality professionals. Whilst James manages the day-to-day business, wife Fjona is responsible for all the interior design. Together they have refurbished the 15 bedrooms, all with their own distinct individual personality. The bedrooms have bay windows, vibrant fabrics and vintage furniture combined with modern touches. Each of the vast bathrooms feature monsoon showers and huge baths. The amenities range at Hampton Manor is by ‘100 Acres’ all hand-blended using essential oils and botanicals and made in England. James is inspirationally driven to develop Hampton Manor on all fronts; comfort, dining, experience and relaxation. His team development instils confidence in professionals who share his passion and drive.

Where better to meet than in the heart of England? Hampton Manor’s access to London (under two hours) and Birmingham (ten minutes) makes it the ideal destination for all manner of events including board level meetings, away days, exhibitions and conferences. Rooms include: The Board Room/The Library which was Sir Frederick Peel’s former library. This oak panelled room is equipped with a 63 inch plasma screen and includes free wifi and can hold up to 20 delegates in a boardroom style. The large windows with views of the grounds mean plenty of natural daylight fills the room. For larger events including presentations, exhibitions and award ceremonies, The Courtyard is the place. This flexible space of over 200 metres square is stylish and contemporary with stone walls and a glass atrium leading onto the 45 acres of gardens. The Courtyard can host up to 112 delegates on all day chairs theatre style. The room can be dressed tailored to the theme of the event. Special private dining menus are available for all events from the award-winning 3 AA Rosette restaurant. These can be served in The Courtyard, The Library or the more intimate Tasting Room. Day delegate rates are priced from £50 + VAT per person including hire between 9am and 5pm, refreshments, pastries, fresh fruit, two course deli style buffet lunch, afternoon tea and unlimited water. The 24 hour rate of £205 + VAT per person includes the above and also a three course private dinner, accommodation and breakfast.

What also sets Hampton Manor apart from the competition is its investment in developing local talent to become among the UK’s best hospitality professionals. Head Chef Rob Palmer came to Hampton Manor as Junior Sous, working under the exceptionally skilled Martyn Pearn who held a Michelin star for over 12 years. Danielle Carr is the Sommelier and she is well versed in all things Old and New World wines. Her personal interest in both traditional and lesser known vineyards and regions allows diners to sample new wines if they wish; or excellent value wines from regions that are on the day-to-day radar. Danielle tailors each dish with a wine that not only complements the ingredients but excites the diner. She has completed advanced WSET courses and been awarded accordingly. Danielle is currently progressing with the Master Court of Sommeliers having completed the WSET level 3 stage. General Manager Craig Newman has received praise from the Sunday Telegraph and The Times who enjoyed his motivated energy and passion for Hampton Manor’s story. Craig manages a team of young professionals feeding into managing directors James and Fjona. Many members of the Hampton Manor team have chosen to start and develop their career at this independent business flying the flag for the UK’s second city.
