Since joining Restaurant 56, Andrew and his team have quickly established a restaurant with a reputation for excellence. He is passionate about British Food using classic combinations with a contemporary edge. All the ingredients are sourced impeccably, many are local. Andrew is not interested in following fashion for the sake of it either. By using trusted suppliers and his own palate, he designs dishes using a range of exceptional flavours and textures, presented in a way that delights the taste buds before you have taken the first mouthful.
“My menu is a labour of love, reflecting elegance and diversity using mainly locally sourced ingredients, allowing you to delve into a unique and unforgettable experience. Through my career I’ve worked for some excellent chefs – the two Simons … Haigh and Rogan being the biggest influences on me. Haigh taught me my craft and Rogan made me think out of the box. It is this creativity that I have brought to Restaurant 56 and together with Nick Bennett, my Sous Chef, we have developed some exciting and innovative taste sensations for our A La Carte and Tasting Menus. Winning these two awards has been a fantastic achievement for me and my team and we look forward to building upon our success in coming months. It’s been an incredible ride so far…my team and I are over the moon. This is just the beginning; we are now building on these achievements and will see what next year brings”
