The Celtic Princes & Queen Victoria’s Home – Ynyshir Hall
To truly escape from it all nothing quite beats Ynyshir Hall, located on the edge of western Wales surrounded by mountains. Solitude is felt instantly with the peaceful surroundings which are suffer from zero noise pollution, expect only birdsong to alert you to nature.
Ynyshir Hall’s ‘Relax & Revive’ retreat is unique. Not simply relying on a spa treatment, but fusing together a stunning location with a selection of natural activities and specialist sessions with leaders in healing of the mind and body, these retreats allow a new state of calm to unfold.
Therapists are not based at Ynyshir Hall but all live in the surrounding area and work with Ynyshir Hall as the breath-taking landscape cradled in acres of glorious gardens enhances their treatments. These treatments include Meditation, Tai-Chi, Shiatsu Massage, Reflexology, Bio Energy Healing, Osteopathy, Intuitive Healing, Reiki and Creative Kinesiology.
Every aspect of the ‘Relax & Revive’ retreat creates complete harmony between the surrounding mountains, Dyfi Estuary, nurtured gardens and the abundance of wonderful fresh local ingredients in and around Ynyshir Hall. Succulent seafood comes from Cardigan Bay — with lobsters, crabs and shrimp landed at Aberystwyth and Borth. And there is exceptional wild salmon and sewin in the local rivers. Venison and wild game are in abundance, Ynyshir Hall has tender-sweet Welsh lamb along with free-range chicken and Welsh Black beef which is second to none. Pork is organic and bacon is hand-cut for breakfast with sausages prepared to the hotel’s own recipe.
The kitchen garden produces wonderful fruit, vegetables, herbs and salads. Both head chef Paul Croasdale & hotel owner Joan Reen regularly forage and collect wild foods such as mushrooms, samphire, wood sorrel and wild garlic — all absolutely delicious thanks to the purity of the local soil, water and air. Guests are also invited to join either Paul or Joan on a foraging walk to further explore the local area’s fairy-tale landscape.
