Ageworthy wines – There will be a comparative tasting between two Californian vintages, ten years apart, to demonstrate the “ageability” of wine

Everything about the Vineyard is inspired from the world of wine. The owner makes wine in California and has brought the West Coast style to Berkshire. With its glass-covered cellar holding over 30,000 bottles of wine – many from the owner’s Californian vineyard – The Vineyard is the UK’s leading wine hotel.

The wines form the perfect accompaniment to the celebrated contemporary French and Mediterranean cuisine, using seasonal and sustainable produce, from executive chef Daniel Galmiche.

Wine cellar tours; chocolate making with Daniel Galmiche; art tours of the hotel’s impressive private art collection including works by Henri Martin and Boris Smirnoff and the famous Judgement of Paris painting; a trip to Silverstone or up in a hot air balloon can also be organised.

Visitors can also try the grape therapy spa treatments. The Vineyard is home to a boutique spa, fittingly awarded ‘Five Bubbles’ – the highest rating – by the prestigious Good Spa Guide. Thanks to its show-stopping glass roof, guests can stargaze from the elegant, circular, heated indoor swimming pool and relax in the warmth of the Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The extensive list of treatments includes a selection of signature treatments; many of which use the Vineyard’s exclusive Red Grape products, fragrant with sun-ripened fruit.

Just an hour from central London, the five-star Vineyard is a must for lovers of fine food and wine.
