Walks & Waves on Fistral Beach, Cornwall
27 May 2014
The Headland overlooks Fistral Beach and offers the perfect sanctuary beside the sea in either the 96 bedroom 4* hotel or 39 luxury 5* cottages. The Headland’s unique location means guests can enjoy the spectacular Fistral Beach literally in front of the hotel from sunrise to sunset.
Fistral Beach is Cornwall’s popular beach for the UK’s leading surf competitions, thanks to its west-facing Atlantic swell which ensures consistent waves. Aside from waves, Fistral is also perfect for walks backed by steep sand dunes. Sunsets on Fistral beach are simply stunning. Fistral Beach, in Fistral Bay, is bounded by two promontories, Towan Head to the north and Pentire Point East to the south. The straight sandy beach faces west-northwest onto the Atlantic and is approximately 750 metres long.
Beach Holiday Suggestions:
• Surf Sanctuary on Fistral Beach at The Headland
Surf Sanctuary’s coaches are all highly accomplished local surfers with RLSS National Beach Lifeguard and ISA Surf Coach qualifications. Founder Dom Moore has spent the past couple of decades exploring and refining his passion for ocean sports and offers unique experiences in surfing, SUPing, kitesurfing, swimming and free diving on Fistral Beach.
• The Headland Spa
The Headland Spa is Cornwall’s most significant spa covering an area of around 8880 sq ft with direct access to Fistral Beach which literally sits in front of the spa entrance facing the Atlantic Ocean. The spa’s design is enhanced by its location with natural colours used throughout. The Headland was awarded 5 bubbles recently by the Good Spa Guide, the only spa in Cornwall to achieve this result.
• Dog Friendly
Dogs are welcome at The Headland’s hotel & cottages – even wet and sandy ones, as long as they are well-behaved! For the four legged friends The Headland will provide a dog bowl, blanket, food and some yummy treats. There’s a small charge of £18 per dog, per night. But with miles of sandy beach for them to run along it’s well worth it.
