Wales’ magical countryside offers surprises upon every turn and Llangoed Hall, located in Brecon, is one such surprise. Surrounded by 17 acres of parkland and gardens this 23 bedroom hotel is the ideal base to explore Mid Wales. The multi-award winning hotel has partnered up with Penderyn Distillery, the only one in Wales, to offer a ‘Welsh Whisky & Waterfalls Break’.
Until 30th October, guests booking this two night stay will enjoy luxury accommodation, a glass of champagne, dinner on the first night, daily two-course Welsh breakfast and a tour of Penderyn Distillery. Priced from £300.00 based on two sharing per night.
There are plenty of extra activities to enjoy whilst in this part of Wales. A self-drive through the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park is a delight and visitors can enjoy one of the most scenic drives in the UK and experience several waterfalls. A number of Welsh picture-postcard villages and historic market towns also enhance the appeal of this location. The world-famous book town of Hay-on-Wye draws thousands of visitors each year during the popular literary festival. The Hay Festival of Literature & Arts runs for ten days over May and June every year. The village is well worth a visit.
Walking, biking and horse riding can all be explored around the remarkable snow-topped Black Mountains which are visible from Llangoed Hall. The hotel’s very own 17 acres of parkland are also a wonderful way to enjoy fresh air. Llangoed Hall is home to an organic fruit and vegetable garden where chefs are often seen picking produce for that day and a croquet lawn is also located at the rear of the property for a bit of fun. The hotel’s grounds are also home to three egg houses – chicken, duck and quail. The beautiful Walled Garden, with mixed herbaceous borders, the Rose Garden and the Maze will further keep guests entertained outdoors.
Llangoed Hall also won ‘Best Restaurant 2014’ at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence and head chef Nick Brodie has created a selection of menus that celebrate Welsh cuisine using local produce throughout. A 5 Course Dinner draws on local seasonal produce and a Tasting Dinner is also available and paired throughout with a selection of carefully chosen wines.
Raise a glass of whisky at Llangoed Hall and celebrate the unique countryside surrounding the hotel.
